Tuning and repair of our instruments
we recommend regular servicing
to keep instrument in top condition.
If damage has occurred, we will need a description and most likely a video
to hear and see the damage before an assessment can be made.
Servicing HandPans of other makers
we will need to assess the instrument before committing to it.
Also we can only service Instruments
with GU 3.5inches (9cm) wide -
otherwise Mark will not be able to get his hand through...
We recommend that surface of instrument is wiped with a microfiber cloth after each time it is handled.
When instrument is clean and dry, protective oil can be gently rubbed into the steel. Make sure not to press on notes. Use small amount and remove any excess.
However, with time, buildup can occur and it will affect the sound of HandPan
Always use an appropriate case for transportation and do not leave your instrument unattended between performances.
You are free to swap or trade your instrument as you wish.
However we would appreciate if our instruments are not re-sold for profit.
Once in a while we would recommend to clean surface of instrument with an alcohol solution - to remove any build-up and to prevent rusting.
Do not store your instrument in a closed bag overnight and for prolonged periods.
It can trap moisture and advance corrosion. Also prolonged storage in closed case can affect glue quality and sound. If you have to keep it in a bag - make sure that bag is not completely closed and some air flow is allowed.
Service it regularly, keep it dry and wipe it off after each and every handling.
Avoid harsh temperature changes and damage like dropping, excessive banging or applying pressure on playing surface.
